These are the voyages... wait... no no no... that's not the correct script... where did I put that darn thing... ah... here it is... These are the pages of my mind, read, ponder, laugh, weep... for my mind is a complex and devious place... and all of society has become a target to my observations... written here in 14px Arial for your reading pleasure...

The Thanksgiving Ham
One year, quite some time back, I remember being home and my sister preparing the Thanksgiving ham. Now that I'm a little older and have cooked a ham a time or two, I realize that it's not an overly challenging thing to do. However, that year I sat and watched my sister work so hard all day to make the perfect ham. She pre-heated the oven, spent time making the perfect glaze, then she took the ham out and unwrapped it, placed it in the dish, glazed it and made sure to place pineapple and cherries all around it. For hours she checked the ham like clockwork, basting it when she felt it was needed and making sure it didn't dry out. Finally, when it was almost time to eat, she took the ham out of the oven... only to find... that she had neglected to remove the thin, tightly sealed plastic wrapping from the ham prior to preparing it.

Typing Tests
Am I the only one who thinks these are overrated? I mean, I understand that there are some industries in the world where your typing skills need to be honed to perfection... but for me it seems like a better practice to hire the 28 year old that can type 50 wpm and knows how to use a computer, rather than the 65 year old that can type 90 wpm but has no idea what a mouse is.
Questions from a three year old...
This is my first experience with answering a three year old's questions. But, I have to say that I wish my son would learn the question 'WHY', instead of the question 'HOW'. At the moment, he asks how when he should be asking why, and as an adult... knowing what he really wants... I find myself often answering why instead. However, I am a firm believer that if a person is looking for a specific answer, then they should ask the correct question... but trying to explain HOW I'm eating a cookie is so much more difficult than why...

IT - Troubleshooting Made Complicated
For the record, when you're out and about and you hear a tech person, in a professional environment, say that reloading the OS is the first step they take in troubleshooting a problem... then you should run... far far away and never look back. Maybe I'm wrong... but it just seems to me like this is a waste of a lot of time when changing a few settings would prevent IE from randomly closing... but what the heck... it's not my profession...
The Broken Banana - Origins
Okay, so you're wondering where the title came from... I understand, it's silly... but you have to admit it's catching. Actually, I was at work the other day and I observed a coworker eating a banana in a rather peculiar manner... she pealed it, and then proceeded to break a section off and eat that with the other hand. Now, most people might not consider this to be odd behavior... but to me... it was extremely strange. I just couldn't fathom why on earth a person would choose to eat a banana this way, isn't it more intuitive to eat it by pealing it and then holding the banana with the peal? I mean, even monkeys have figured this much out...
Anyway, I thought to myself... 'eat the broken banana'... and I laughed because I thought it would be a good name for a website, unfortunately eatthebrokenbanana.com was far too long winded for a URL... so it got shortened to 'The Broken Banana'. Now, those who know me... well, you'll laugh and just think to yourself... he's just being his typical silly self. Those who don't... well... I just have one thing to say to you.... EAT THE BROKEN BANANA!!!
